Another Challenge

I've decided to do a 52 week challenge. My friend Lydia started a 365 day portrait last year click here and it inspired me, but not to shoot myself of course. So, here I am on a new challenge, one that will keep my creative juices flowing and hopefully keep me entertained in the process.

I have failed

Clearly, I have failed. I have failed at my America's Next Top Model Project (miserably), I have failed at blogging my fall sessions, I have failed at my weight loss (*shocking!*) and I have failed at becoming more organized.
On the plus side.....IT'S A NEW YEAR! I can start fresh. I have a clean slate. I am free to start all over again.
So, with that said, I'm going to post a tonne of pictures right now. A TONNE. I am so sorry for all of my loyal clients that I was not able to give an individual post to. You are all equally important to me, but I failed, so here is my teeny tiny way of making it up to you. And then, I am able to start fresh and keep up with my blogging this year......Hopefully. Sorry if I've missed anyone, I tried..... SO, here are the fall sessions.....there were plenty! And I loved all of it.

Leaving on a Jet Plane

On my way to Mount Albert yesterday, the sun was shining the air was warm and it was so refreshing. I was looking forward to photographing my two dear "track friends" and couldn't wait to get there. Along the way, I thought maybe I should ask Tanya to do a trash the dress session. The light is perfect, she loves mud, and what girl doesn't want to feel like a model for a day. So, right away I sprung it on her, and her immediate response was "YES!". So, off we went, (after family sessions) and headed off into the sunset. Here are my favourite shots from the day, from start to finish. Now, this girl, she knows how to TRASH THE DRESS! A special thanks to Shannon for all her help carrying the muddy dress, boosting up the muddy model and pouring hot water over her head :)
Such fun T. Had a blast and can't wait to see you again.

America's Next Top What? Week 5

So this week on the show the models headed to Rodeo Drive for a photo shoot with fashion photographer Patrick Demarchelier. Here is my interpretation. Clearly I have no fashion sense so clearly I am sitting here laughing at myself once again. Oh well, if nothing else, I continue to get a good chuckle.

Chris and Daina are Engaged!

What can I possibly say about Chris and Daina? Daina, not to be mistaken for Diana is a sweet, bubbly, very organized woman. I realized this within minutes of meeting her. She is totally with it when it comes to what she wants on her wedding day and I am honoured to have been chosen to be the one to capture the memories of her and her fiance. Now Chris. Not many people get me and my sense of humour. Sometimes, I think I'm funny and then there is silence, all I hear are crickets chirping and my own laughter.
Chris is the kind of guy that would laugh with me, not at me and I like that. Chris and Daina have such a fun, outgoing, witty relationship that I can't help but feel like we've been friends for a very long time.
The day was fantastic, our time together well spent, and we got some fantastic shots. Can't wait for your big day!

Oh Dear!

Sometimes I get a little excitable. Maybe a little too excitable, which is possibly why I am such a klutz, I get so into the "moment" that I don't see what's going on around me. (if you're laughing right now, you know me really well). I will discuss my combine accident in a later post, because this post is saved for this family. Today's light was delish. Yes, I said delish. I don't care how corny. Nor did I care how lame I sounded when I kept telling this little beauty how gorgeous she was today. LOOK AT HER. I'm not sure if my fetish with her beauty is because she looks so much like Ella (my daughter) or if it's because she is sooooo cute!. Either way, I could have continued to photograph these two darlings, the ENTIRE day.

My Little Man

Well my little man came home excited to show me what they are learning in class. They are learning about blogs, and how to express yourself. So, without further ado (I had to check the spelling on that one), I plug my oldest child's new official blog. "D Awesomest Blog" here.

He is going to write mainly about his race season (May-Oct) and I really have no idea what else, I'm almost afraid to read it! He's getting to be that age.......... So please, if you have a minute, read this poor boy's blog. I just love him to bits! (they read my blog in class today, I'm hoping they read it tomorrow so I can embarrass him) Love you hunny, soooooooo much. Muah!

Chris and Amy are Engaged!

Chris and Amy came to me as a gift from a special cousin. These two were so comfortable with each other and so comfortable with me that it made for a fun, relaxed photoshoot. I see it's a very fitting day to post these pics as they are getting married 7 months today!

Preik Kids

Well since I can't do a whole lot of moving, I figured I could at least catch up on my blog posts.
The Preik boys, are busy boys. Earlier on in the day I had taken my kids to the Cobourg Beach, where we ran into the Preik Boys. Hours later, a sunburn or two and no nap looking eyes, they arrived for their family pictures. Luckily for them, they are so cute with their beautiful blond hair, fair skin and blue eyes, that they totally pulled it off. Trains are an obsession the youngest boy has so that's where we started our journey, and we ended our journey, back at the beach.

Well as some of you may know, I have injured my back. At hockey on Monday night, I felt something very sharp on the lower left hand side of my back (after I got the first goal of the game.....yep, I'm proud). I tried to skate off to no avail, so I pulled myself with my stick to the door, where the referee let me out. None of my players had any idea what was going on at this point. I got out, and fell face first on the concrete *safely though, with all of my equipment to protect me*. There I lay with 4 minutes left to play in the game. Crying. Hard. On the concrete. On my belly. After the game, people came to see why this strange woman was laying face first on the floor and helped me to my side. Unfortunately for me, the arena's protocol is that if you can't get up unaided they have to call an ambulance. So, to my dismay, I took my first ride in an ambulance in 30 years. Off to emerg I go, begging the paramedics to cover my face with the sheet so nobody would know it was me. *they didn't think I was funny by the way*. At the hospital I was told that it was likely a pulled muscle, they gave me a shot of something in my upper arm muscle and said hold off for a bit, then try to get up and you can head home.
After about 3 hours of trying to get up, and not making it more than a couple of inches, I gave it my all, and VOILA, pass out on the bed. I totally told her I'd pass out. Yep, score one for me. So, at this point they reassessed the situation and decided that I needed to be hooked up to IV to fill me up with morphine. Morphine, Tylenol 3's, Cyclo something, and Keto something, and I STILL was in pain. Next up MRI. This is where they found that it was not actually a pulled muscle, it was however, a disc protrusion in my lower back. So, here I lay, in my bed, with my laptop, and my dogs, and my kids, writing this blog post.
I truly can't thank you enough to those of you that I've had to cancel or re-schedule this week. Believe me when I say I'd much rather be shooting, then laying here, on my back, in my bed.........

So with that, I thought I'd leave you with a picture, cause what's a photography blog without a picture right?....... Now many of you would look at this and think it's blurry, out of focus and not worth keeping. I on the other hand, feel that it captures my dog's energy more than I would ever be able to describe in words.

You know how every single mom looks at their child and thinks they are absolutely beautiful? Is it weird that I look at someone else's child and think the same thing? This little girl is stunning, Simply gorgeous.
This day is by far the coldest that I have shot in this fall. But this little girl is a trooper, and you'd never know that it felt like it was going to snow like "any second!"

America's Next Top What? Week 4

UGH!!!!!!!! Seriously people. This was not a good idea. I have struggled with this one for the past 6 days. My goal was to always have the previous weeks shoot done and posted by the next weeks show. I have put this off, and put this off. I really struggled with this one. I don't have a wrestler, and I don't wear those kinds of clothes. I'm a big girl. Seriously, any person that can eat KFC for 14 years, then quit, stop eating it, and gain weight, has issues. Yep, that's me, I'll just be the Subway Jarod of KFC..... okay, rant over. Here is my interpretation of last weeks America's Next Top Model. I did not use a funky chicken wrestler, nor did I use a wrestling ring. Let's just say that Photoshop has been my friend this time.

Happy Anniversary

Two years ago a girl took a chance on me. She knew full well what kind of a chance she was taking, but she took it anyways. Two years ago today I photographed my very first paid wedding with my best friend by my side. As I sit here getting ready to shoot another wedding today, I can't help but remember the butterflies in my stomach on that day, the nerves were almost unbearable. Was I going to succeed? What if she hates the pictures? What if she hates me? Lucky for me I had Kelly by my side to calm me down, to tell me that I was going to succeed, that she won't hate the pictures, and that she won't hate me....well if she does, she won't tell you.
Sarah was willing to give me a shot, my first shot, and for that I truly thank her. Because without that opportunity I wouldn't be where I am today. So, Happy Anniversary Sarah and Matt, thank you so much for allowing me to capture one of the most important days of your lives. Sarah, I'm so happy to call you my friend now.
Still to this day I can't believe that I get to do something I absolutely love and get paid for it. It's amazing.

America's Next Top What? Week 3

This week on America's Next Top Model the girls had a challenge photoshoot as well as their regular photoshoot. First up is the regular shoot. Here, the girls were put into some sort of water contraption to be photographed by photographer Matthew Rolsten. So, the challenge for me was to shoot through water without actually being in water. I would like to say a special thanks to my mom for the window pane idea, and a special thanks to Dawson for holding my camera for me and one more thanks to Ella for flicking the water to try and get ripples. Here you go, week three is up!

This photo I'm about to show you could be the scariest one of me you will ever in your entire lives EVER see. The challenge was to pose while riding a rollercoaster. Here, is my pose. Feel free to laugh out loud at this point, the louder the better.

Mr and Mrs. Moloney

From the moment I met them, I felt liked, not just a little liked, a LOT liked. And I really liked them back. The entire wedding day I felt like I was a part of the family. Rachel and Sean, I could feel your love radiating towards each other. You two are so extremely loved by all of your family and friends. Thank you so much for letting me be a part of your day. So this week on America's Next Top Model, the girls had to be suspended in midair, while looking like a fallen angel, all the while hanging off of a hot piece of man meat (one of the girls called him that). Unfortunately for you, I did not have a man to hang off of, and fortunately for me, I was not able to get anybody willing to suspend me. So, here is my interpretation of this weeks shoot. Shoot? America's Next Top What?

I hate having my picture taken. There, I said it. I am a photographer and I despise having anyone take my photo. I will hide behind others, I will turn my back, I will literally run if I have to, all to get away from someone with a camera. If I'm with my girls and I've had a couple of beverages, I can do it, I don't like it, but I'll do it. I have decided that I would like to LIKE to have my picture taken. I think it will make me a better photographer and it will show to those I photograph that if I can do it, so can they. SO, here is my project. I am in love with America's Next Top Model. Not the reality, catty girls being girls part, but the photography. I love watching an ugly duckling transform into something of sheer beauty. My project is for me to shoot myself doing the same photoshoot that the girls are doing each week. It will not be perfect, it will be dorky, you may even laugh out loud. But, if I gain just a teeny, tiny iota of self-confidence from this, then it is totally worth it.

This week was "Bully Week". Each girl had to choose a word that they felt was used towards them growing up that make them feel small. Then, they had to pick a word that gave them freedom from that word, no longer making that flaw something ugly, but turning it to beauty.

My childhood teasing word is "FRECKLE FACE". My freedom from that word would be "BEAUTY MARKS".

The Grigg Family

How NOT to make smores.

"What did the camper say to the other camper?"

I want smore.......... ( I know, I know, don't quit my day job right? )

I have a story. Some may find it a funny story. Some may find it a scary story. I found it the story of a lifetime.

For Christmas, my brother and sister-in-law bought my husband a smores kit. Not just any ol' smores kit, but a fun, kid loving, can't wait to try it kinda smores kit.

While camping, Dawson (my son) fell off the monkey bars (like 9feet tall monkey bars). Thinking that the smores kit would take his mind off of the pain, we decided to let him start by roasting the marshmellows.
Traditionally, one would place a marshmallow on the end of a skewer or stick and hold it close to the flame of the campfire. This would warm the marshmallow and when placed inside two graham crackers with chocolate, the marshmallow would soften or melt the chocolate for a yummy treat. Well, since we don't do anything the "traditional" way, Dawson's marshmellow caught on fire. NORMALLY, you would blow the flame out, and continue to use the yummy marshmellow. Now this may be a little graphic, if you can't handle it, stop reading NOW.....
Dawson pulled the skewer out of the fire and brought it up to his face to blow out the marshmellow.
BUT, instead of it reaching his mouth, the flaming marshmellow flung off the skewer, hit the side of his head, caught in his hair still flaming. He jumped up, screaming at the top of his lungs and smacking the side of his head to get the flames out. Upon smacking out the flames, my poor boy smashed the marshmellow into his ear. Yep, you got it, flaming marshmellow in the crevices of his ear! Thankfully my dear friend Shannon and her husband Jeff quickly came to their senses and took the icepack of his leg (remember monkey bar fall) and placed on his ear.
A 40 minute drive to the emergency room, a good ear cleaning, some bandages, and we're good to go!
The moral of the story......LET THE FLAMING MARSHMELLOW BURN OFF IN THE FIRE!

Out of Office

I will be out of my office July 30th, 2010 and returning August 2nd, 2010. I will be second shooting a wedding with the oh so fun leeann marie of Pittsburgh. I may or may not be returning emails, depending on whether or not my service provider will work in the U S of A.

So, getting ready for my out of office message I decide to post a picture of my beautiful daughter Ella. We had a fun mommy and daughter day getting manicures, going for bike rides, playing with 3D chalk, and face painting. Upon taking our perfect photo, I felt a weird sharp stab in my leg. I was like "AAAAHHH" and Ella was like "what?" , another stab and I was like "AAAHHHH" "TAKE MY CAMERA!!". So, she took my camera and she was like" AAAAHHHH!" and I was like "AAAAHHH!".
All in all I received 3 bee stings, and my precious baby girl received 2 bee stings. NOT the best way to end our fantabulous day. BUT, I did take her picture!

Today started out like any typical day at the Campbell Residence. I wake up, I edit, I drink lots of coffee, I keep editing, and THEN!!!!! the fun begins. No matter how far behind I am or get, I am determined to enjoy my first summer off in 7 years. I am going to be a fun mom!!!! So today, after my morning routine, my 2 nephews and niece came over for the day. We headed to the ~~chiptruck~~ salad store for lunch, picked 6 pints of blueberries at the blueberry patch (who knew!) and then went swimming in Little Lake.
When we returned home, I figured the boys could keep themselves entertained outside while I edited and the girls could do what girls do.

After about 10 minutes I heard a lot of laughter from out front. This is what I found. If I'm not the coolest mom this summer for allowing this, then I give up!

THEN!!!!!! The girls came out to see what all the noise was. I turned around to see "what girls do".

The Many Faces of Cooper

So I decided to google the meaning of the name "Cooper". I was hoping for something fun like prince of laughter, or beloved child, or straight and narrow. Instead I got, Barrel Maker. Seriously?? So, I googled it again, and then again, and one more time to be sure. Yep, Cooper is a Barrel Maker. So then, I decided to google "Barrel Maker". Lo and behold, up comes the name Cooper. I can't win with this one. It reads: "Today, the profession of the cooper is synonymous with the wine and spirits industry where the cooper assembles casks and operates machinery that builds barrels." Well, I guess that's kind of fun right? The builder of wine and spirits barrels?
Regardless of what his name means, I'm positive Cooper is going to be a devoted son that dotes on his mom, and plays without boundaries. His energy is contagious and his smile mischievous. Enjoy!

I had the pleasure of hooking up with the Quemby family yesterday down at the Nuwatain Conservation Park. There were snapping turtles, snakes, and loads of hissing geese. I am an addict. Yes, I admit it, I am a yard sale junkie. I, like many other of you closet yard salers, can't resist a good garage sale. There's something about going through someone else's stuff. Tanya and I were what people call "fast friends". As soon as we starting talking, we both knew that we were going to hit it off. Tanya was newish to the Cobourg area and joined the women's soccer league, which landed her on my team (sorry for your luck!). Right away, we were friends. Then, we were lucky enough to score being on the same team again last year. Hopefully our soccer convener will be reading this, and put us on the same team again this year..... (hint, hint Yvonne).
Well it was time for Tanya to get her family portraits done, so we headed to Cobourg Beach just as the sun was going down....sooooo pretty. Look at all of these gorgeous girls. FOUR to be exact!! Way back when she was a young teenage girl. She has this extreme beauty about her. No matter how gorgeous she is though, she always makes me feel like a million bucks when I'm with her. She's humble and gracious, she's kind and endearing, and she's an extremely gentle soul with an amazing voice, and such great hair (had to throw that in). Shannon, it was a pleasure to spend time with you. I hope you remember me when you're famous some day. You have grown from an awkward teenager working at KFC to a beautiful woman, and I am privileged to be able to call you my friend.

I am a terrible blogger. Half the time I don't know what to say, the other half, I get distracted and simply forget. *squirrel!* So, here I am, ready to do another post! I am way behind on blogging so will catch up with my most recent sessions this upcoming week. But first, I'd like to do a little post about this past weekend.
My most generous in-laws blessed us with a trip to New York City for our Christmas present a couple of years ago and life got in the way of us going. Death, babies, jobs etc. So, my sister-in-law Chantal and I finally took our long awaited journey. Bright and early Thursday morning we headed to Porter Airport (on the island). Traffic and rain made our drive a long one, but we were so excited it went super quick.
We were very excited to see that the flight said "early" on the board so we ran through the airport to get to the counter in order to not be late. Welllllll.....if anyone knows what it's like to fly with me, NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING goes my way on flight day. The flight was not early, instead it was delayed and then a few minutes later, CANCELED.! Yep, our flight to NYC was canceled due to rain!!
Ugh, what a drag. BUT, we were still in good spirits, knowing full well that no matter what, "we were going to NYC today". Porter Airlines was fantastic and shuttled us over to Pearson International Airport and took us directly to our teeny weeny little plane.
SO, at this point, we are about 4 hours behind schedule, hungry (there's no food at that airport) but still excited!
We arrived safe and sound and took our 45 minute cab ride to our hotel. S-C-A-R-I-E-S-T ride of my entire life. A few minutes in I knew that in order to make it to the hotel I would not be able to look out the front window. Seriously people, cabbies are faster. more aggressive drivers than Nascar. Park Avenue, aaahhh. Did I say Park Avenue? That's where our fabulous hotel was. It was super chic and the concierge was amazing!! Oh, and did I mention that at this point we had driven a car, taken two ferry rides, been on a bus, been on a plane, and been in a cab? Planes, trains and automobiles.....
Okay, well I won't drone on and on about our entire weekend but I will tell you our highlights of the weekend. (touristy things we saw and did)
* empire state building (glad I saw it, but it didn't excite me really)
* double decker bus
* Roxy's at Time's Square (biggest and I mean BIGGEST corn beef sandwiches EVER)
* Central Park (so pretty and quaint)
* ground zero ( I really thought it was going to 'move' me but it's a construction site now:( so I was bummed)
* St.Patrick's Cathedral (soooooooo super amazing. I was in awe)
* Broadway show-AMAZING!! (loved every second of it and it was my first time!)
* shop, shop, shop ( yep, we did lots of that )
* walk, walk, walk ( seriously, we must've walked like 20 miles in 3 days )
* Trump Towers ( expensive looking, DUH!)
* massage (ahhhhh)
* spend quality time together (so nice, cheesy but true)
* NYC subway at rushhour on a Friday. ( you need to shower after you get off )

This was soooo cool. You take a piece of paper, you write your hopes and dreams for the next year, then on NewYear's Eve when the ball drops at Time's Square, all of the paper falls out like confetti.

Blissful Babies

I have been so blessed this past week to photograph so many super cute, adorable, squishy babies. Some may cry, some may pee, and some may scream at the top of their wee little lungs, BUT, they were all so amazingingly good ( yes, I know, that's not a real word ) in their own special way.

Bridal Show 2010

I have been stressing about this bridal show at the Best Western in Cobourg since I signed up for it in January. For those of you that know me, I tend to over-react a little. Yes, I said a little. I admit it, I was freaking out inside. I was so nervous that my booth was going to look amateur, that I was going to feel amateur, and that people would walk right on by. Well, I am not an amateur!! An Arabian Proverb (thanks Scarlett) says "Compete, don't envy" So, that's what I did. I held my head high, and believed in myself!!! I did not allow myself to be a shrinking Violet!! My dear friend Jen came to help me out and give me moral support. For that, I thank you. My mom and dad both stopped by to give their moral support as well. For that, I also thank you. To all the brides that stopped and complimented me on my photographs and inquired about my packages and helped me believe "I'm worth it" Thank-you.

Also, thank you to my new photography friends, whom without your continued support I wouldn't have made it through the day.

I've attached some of my pictures from the bridal show. I, a photographer, forgot my camera. I must say though that I'm pretty thankful that's all I forgot! The coordinator was gracious enough to snap a couple pics with her cell-phone and email them to me. The quality isn't the greatest, but you get the drift :)

I have some exciting news to share!! Late last Thursday evening I received a rather cryptic phone call from a highschool friend. She asked if I could dress kind of nice, bring my camera, and meet her at Victoria Hall at 2pm. Since I no longer have a day job (yay me!) I said "of course". Arrangements changed a bit beforehand and I met her at her house instead. I had let myself in and was waiting for her. Upon her arrival there was a bustle of activity, her two daughters were super excited and dolled all up. They told me they were heading out for a very special fancy dinner date. My friend asked me to take the girls upstairs and get their dresses on. A few rushed moments later, the girls were dressed and ready to go. THEN, the big surprise! My friend walked up the stairs in.......her WEDDING GOWN. Sandra was eloping!! The girls were sooo excited, they were crying and shrieking shrieks of joy! We headed to our town hall where her groom was patiently waiting (we of course were late). It was a very sweet ceremony and I was honored to capture their special day. Sandra, I wish you and Max the most glorious days of your lives. You truly, truly deserve it.

Fuzzy Wieners!

Okay, so many of you know that when photographing children I will count down 3, 2, 1 and say "fuzzy wieners". A photography teacher once said she did it, I tried it, and it made the kids laugh.
SO, while with my new friends (I use that word loosely) at a restaurant, they wanted me to take their picture. SO, I did the regular countdown. 3,2,1 and yelled FUZZY WIENERS!!! Well let me tell you. Americans have dirty minds!! A fuzzy wiener to them is not the same fuzzy wiener to me.
SO, with that said, I will no longer be using the term "fuzzy wiener" but instead will use the word "fuzzy pickle". Apparently since they fry those down there, it is an acceptable word :) Thanks to Vu Bui for reminding me of my eccentricism (yes, it's a word in my world) and telling me that I needed a #9 to add to yesterday's post. This post's for you :)

Let the sharing begin.

I learned a lot of things while being away that I'm going to fill you in on right now.

1) American's do not have Boxing Day. I know this may seem trivial to you, but to me, I was SHOCKED!!! In all my 33 years I had never heard such a thing! I'm going to have to have a little chat with my mother. I think it needs to be included in such talks as the Birds and the Bees.

2) a GPS will allow you to go in circles. And keep going in circles. It never tires. I however tire of hearing it tell me to go on the "motorway" when I'm already on the flippin "motorway", and I've been going in circles over and over again.

3) Contrary to popular belief, a motel manager will enter your room in the middle of the night, using her key, WHILE INTOXICATED.

4) I did not get bed bugs.

5) Toilets in the US Airports always think they need to flush while you are pulling your pants down. Each and every single time I went to the Loo the toilet flushed before I even started. Seriously!!

6) There should be a deodorant mandatory rule for the 3 seat wide airplanes. Small space + stinky pits = gagging passenger (moi)

7) The Bui Brothers are all that they are cracked up to be. Seriously people, they are full of grace and I don't use that word loosely. EVER!

8) There are many fun words that rhyme with Lydia. You can figure them out :)

Well, let's just leave it at that. I learned a lot of things while on my little vacay in Florida.

Scarlett Lillian Workshop

Well, I'm back home and of course I was welcomed with many hugs and kisses. I was licked on the face, smelled in certain inappropriate areas and wet nosed one too many times. It's nice to be missed! The last few days were a complete whirlwind of activity. I left Thursday evening to drive BY MYSELF across the border to the Buffalo airport (much cheaper than Pearson). I then stayed in a hotel BY MYSELF. I then flew in not one, but two! airplanes, BY MYSELF. Both flights were delayed by weather of course. Then, I arrived in Jacksonville Florida where I was no longer BY MYSELF. I knew from the moment I got off the plane and met up with my amazing new friends that it was going to be a weekend to remember. I had a lot of preconceived notions about attending a workshop as I had never been to one before. Every minute was amazing. I gained so much valuable information from Scarlett but also from all of the fabulous photographers that attended. I even learned from the Bui Brothers. How fun is their name?
So I don't take up too much of your time with my rambles I will make this POST #1 of my Jacksonville adventures. Stay tuned for many more to come!

What a wonderful month December has been for my family and myself! God finally gave me the courage to leave my job of 14 years and be able to focus on being a mom. I love being a mom :)

December kept me very busy with family photoshoots and even one corporate photoshoot! This was my first year to not have to work the Statutory holiday's. Yippee!! I thoroughly enjoyed every second of it! Here are a few of my December shots. My studio is almost complete, not quite though, but there are a few studio shots attached as well :) I pray that each and every one of you also had the best Christmas of your lives and that you felt as blessed as I do!

I truly believe that everyone needs a BFF. I am very blessed to say that I have 3 BFF's! They are always there when I need them yet give me space when I want it. They have my back, will scratch my back and also help put clothes on my back. Each one of them is a true inspiration in their own individual ways. If you ever meet them, you'll remember them :) Every year we get together for a "girl's weekend" and do something different each time. This year, we are heading to the heat for some sun and relaxation. One more sleep ladies, one more sleep!!!

On a beautiful fall day I was graciously asked to shoot a family of 30 (plus one in the oven). Since I had already invited myself to their "wedding week" in Cuba, I already knew everyone there and was ready to take on the challenging wind, sun and shadows. Cuba was sooo awesome by the way. Wow! Life is a whirlwind! This is my very first post for my very first blog. Since I am the world's biggest procrastinator and I can't seem to start a website, I thought I'd give blogging a try. Please be patient with me as I truly will just have to wing it. I'm going to post a few of my summer and fall shoots and then will update regularly with my whirlwind life :) Stay tuned....

This most recent shoot was loads of fun. The wee little guy definitely kept me on my toes. I was entertained with skateboarding, biking, and LOTS of leaves.
